SECURITY FAQ's
ADC's Online Security
We will not misuse information you provide.
ADC does not make your personally identifiable information available for marketing to third parties under any circumstances.
When we request information from you, we ask for information we need to provide the service to communicate within our community. When we provide you the opportunity to receive newsletters or other information, we may ask for information about your details to determine which of our committee units can best serve you.
When you set up your details, please maintain that information, we use the information you provide us about yourself so we can complete our community database. We do not share this information with outside parties.
When you register for events or volunteer to help a committee unit from our site, we give you the opportunity to receive additional information and updates on our related services. We will not use information you submit to our Web site for this purpose unless you give us your consent on either our online forms or email.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our Web site and to share with our community. For example, we may tell a publisher that a certain number of individuals visited a certain area on our Web site or that a certain number filled out a registration form, but we do not disclose anything that could be used to identify the individuals.
We never use or share the personally-identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to those described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated use.

SECURITY FAQ's
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your computer that is tagged as belonging
to the Web site that placed it there. This is a widely used method for making visits
to a Web site more personal. It allows the Web site to recognize you when you return
and to tailor pages according to your preferences. To read more information on the
purpose of cookies for users of Microsoft®
Internet Explorer go to
http://www.microsoft.com/info/cookies.htm. For users
of Netscape, please go to

ADC's Online Security
ADC understands that online security is important to you.
We use multiple methods to maintain security while keeping the site as accessible
as possible to our valued community members. See
Terms and Conditions for limitations
on ADC's responsibility to maintain security. ADC
uses the following security technology to protect your privacy. They are:
- Secure Socket Layer with real-time encryption: ADC's Catalog is built
on Netscape's Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Netscape Navigator and Microsoft
Windows® Internet Explorer users. The Secure Socket Layer prevents unauthorized access
to your personal information. As long as you are using a Secure Socket Layer browser like
Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can conduct end-to-end encrypted
transactions without fear of an intermediary obtaining your credit card information. SSL is
the industry standard for security. If you do not see the Key icon (Netscape) or the Padlock
icon (Internet Explorer) it is because the page you are viewing is being displayed within a
frame. If you look at the URL for that page you can tell it is an encrypted link by the "s" in
"https://..."
- In addition to the external protection
provided by SSL, ADC has its own firewall and hardware. These are designed to
prevent others from accessing your data or accessing Software Spectrum's internal networks
that store your data.
